Applications:

Types Of Engine Noise Suppression

Point of problem
• Example: Capacitor or other EMI solution on each sparkplug wire
• Costly and can only take care of a single problem

Harness or problem area
• Example: Capacitor assembly mounted at coil
• One mounting location, one part, can resolve multiple noise problems, economical

Types Of Noise Suppression Applications

Elimination of electrical noise that causes Radio Interference
• Example: Popping or static on certain radio bands

Elimination of electrical noise that causes/interferes with sensors
• Example: Crank sensor interference that results in a delayed start

Types Of Noise Suppression Circuits

Noise filter that is not current carrying – attached to one side and grounded
• Example: Majority of current engine capacitor assemblies

Noise Filter that carries current – ignition circuit & 3rd brake light
• Example: Most of this type is utilized by Jaguar/Land Rover

ECS Capabilities

• Computer Aided Design (CAD) utilizing state of the art hardware and CAD software, for mechanical, magnetic
FEA and PC Board design.

• Rapid Prototyping via Stereo Lithography utilizing SLA format output from CAD software. Sizes up to 10 cubic inches.

• Computerized electromechanical dynamometer testing.

• Vibration endurance testing.

• Environmental testing (-100°F to 359°F) with and without humidity controls.

• Thermal Shock testing (-73°C with or without LN2 to 177°C).

• State of the art RFI/EMI testing equipment including full size mode stir shielded test room.

• In-House D.V. and P.V. testing for most new and existing products
